Who should take this course
You’re considering Salesforce for nonprofits
You’re moving to Salesforce from another fundraising system
You’re moving to Salesforce from another database that supports your programming
You’ve inherited a Salesforce organization and aren’t sure what questions to ask
You have been using Salesforce for awhile but feel like there are gaps in your approach to the fundamentals of households, donors, donations, campaigns and tasks
What you’ll learn
How the most important pieces of Salesforce fit together and how to find your way around Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities (Donations), Leads, Campaigns, Tasks, and Search
How nonprofits typically use Salesforce for fundraising, program management, membership management, and communications
What is Salesforce, what is the NPSP, and what is another extension or add-on
What to prepare for in managing your Salesforce - core functionality, packages, and customizations, and who typically does what in small and midsized organizations
How to enter a household, contact, and donation for fundraising
What to expect from this course
Each course is 90 minutes, online, taught by an experienced Salesforce consultant who has hands-on experience managing Salesforce for nonprofits across many organizations
You will receive a Zoom link prior to the course you’re registered for
The demonstrations will happen in the Nonprofit Success Pack that most nonprofits use. The core concepts in this training apply to other nonprofit-focused Salesforce offerings (EDA, Program Management) but the sequence of steps in the donation entry may not match exactly if you’re not using the NPSP.
This is an orientation-style course, and is a bit less hands-on than any other course we teach. You’re welcome to follow along in your own Salesforce.
We will be moving through a fair bit of content and will curate questions from the chat. We encourage questions - if you’re curious about it, it’s likely your colleagues are too!
