Who should take this course
You are a systems administrator of your Salesforce organization, responsible for customizing and managing the technical aspects of Salesforce
What you’ll learn
What options you have to automate within Salesforce, and what “declarative automation” means
A quick overview of Workflow rules for administrators working in existing Salesforce systems
An introduction the Process Builder interface for core automations
Hands on with Process Builder to build automations that update fields on a record, create a new record, and send an email.
A brief introduction to Flows, and discussion of when to use a Flow versus a Process Builder.
Please note: Salesforce has recently announced that Process Builder will be sunset and replaced with Flows, but details are in short supply and our experience with similar announcements leads us to continue to teach and support Process Builder as a core part of the Salesforce automation ecosystem. We will evolve this course as we learn more. As with all things Salesforce, learning to adapt to change is part of learning to manage the system.
What to expect from this course
Each course is 90 minutes, online, taught by an experienced Salesforce consultant who has hands-on experience managing Salesforce for nonprofits across many organizations
You will receive a Zoom link prior to the course you’re registered for
You must be a Salesforce Systems Administrator, with access to Process Builder in Setup, to take this course.
If you’re new to Salesforce, please review the course description for The Basics first. Make sure all of that feels pretty comfortable before taking this course.
This is a very hands-on course. You will be working in a sandbox version of your real Salesforce. You will receive instructions prior to the course in how to set up a sandbox.
Ideally you will come into this course with real automations you need to create and can make them during the course while getting support. We will provide an example of a common use cases for everything we cover.
