Who should take this course
You are a Salesforce administrator, in charge of making Salesforce work correctly for your organization
You have at least a little bit of experience working with fields and objects. You don’t have to be a pro, but it shouldn’t be your first time clicking the gear icon in this class.
What you’ll learn
How to work with the formula editor and the types of formula fields you can work with
Examples of the most common reasons to use formulas in Salesforce, and their limitations
Get hands-on with creating formulas for common uses, such as case-safe IDs, working with dates, and displaying data from other objects
Get hands-on with more advanced formulas that can assist with YTD, Year-on-year, and other comparisons that are otherwise difficult in Salesforce
When and how to use roll-ups
What to expect from this course
Each course is 90 minutes, online, taught by an experienced Salesforce consultant who has hands-on experience managing Salesforce for nonprofits across many organizations
You will receive a Zoom link prior to the course you’re registered for
You must have access to add and edit fields in your Salesforce to be able to get hands-on with these examples, so you should probably be a systems administrator
If you’re new to Salesforce, please review the course description for The Basics first. Make sure all of that feels pretty comfortable before taking this course.
This is a very hands-on course. You will be working in a sandbox version of your real Salesforce. You will be sent instructions prior to the course in setting up a sandbox.
Ideally you will come into this course with real changes you need to make and can make them during the course while getting support. We will provide an example of a common use cases for everything we cover.
